It was a nice finish, but our defenders had stopped at least five seconds before it ended up in the net.

I think both teams will be pretty happy with a draw, to be honest.

What does that matter? thats why he looked offside to the lino who was miles off the pace. When the ball was played Hyde was onside.

I agree that a draw was probably a fair result.

Because they all saw the lino had flagged and didn’t try and close down the shot. If they had it might have been blocked/saved, we’ll never know.

Will have to see the highlights. It looked to me that they went to sleep. If the linesman flagged that early then thats even worse as there was no hint of offside at that point.

Anyway its a moot point, it wasn't given. It was a decent game and both teams played well I thought. Although I would have enjoyed a lot more if I was a neutral!

No chance, they were still trying to block it and then were all gutted when it went in. Not one of your players had any idea there was a flag up. Wait til you see it back.

I think Wrexham are going to take some stopping but they're going to be handicapped by the transfer window.
The rest of us can take loan players or signing vs when we want, after Tuesday that's it for them until Christmas.
I can see us signing a keeper and midfielder on loan before then.

He hit the ball a split second after the flag went up and not one Notts player was looking that way.

I feel weird but I agree with Master D. There wasn't enough time for the defense to go 'yaaay offside', it was just a total and utter let off for County. And I say that as someone perfectly happy for both teams to drop points

Is it Kewell or Brennan choosing the signings.

Officially, Brennan has to sign off on everything. However many of the signings are ones Kewell has worked with before and it doesn't look like Brennan is doing much in the way of gatekeeping which is one of the main reasons he was brought in, as TK was fed up of managers coming in and signing a raft of their own players who turned out not to be very good. I am not sure I have much faith in Brennan either to be honest, especially given what a shambles you guys were at the back last season.

Can only go on my own reaction and I didn’t even see it go in the net because I’d seen the lino flag and gone ‘oh offside’ and looked away for a chat. There was a long time between the flag and it going on.

Wow just logged back on. Did Wrexham and Notts play tonight by any chance?

Page after page..

This Mullin guy can't be great. Billy Waters has scored more in the same amount of games. See who bites ;)

Fucking Slocombe, that was a terrible goal to concede.

I thought Wrexham looked impressive in the first half, looked best when hitting a few of the longer balls over the top for the strikers to chase. Not sure about that long throw at all.

Both teams looked knackered by the end. Good point but we’ve got to clean up in September.

Not how it looked on telly - header was nodded back to him quick as a flash, nothing any defender could have done and keeper made full dive to try and Stop it.

Excellent from the linesman there making sure that the Brotherhood Derby was carved up, can’t believe Wrexham fans are complaining as without the wrongly disallowed goal a fellow Brother would’ve been going home with 0 points.
I thought you all understood the Brotherhood code of conduct? :lac:

Next six all look gimmes. Got to be looking at 15+ points from that and we’ve had a good start.

Wrexham were impressive, moved the ball forward quickly, always looked to get it in the box, Mullin a constant threat up front. Barring injuries they will be up there for sure and will give some teams a good hiding, especially at the Racecourse. Thought French was good, although not sure if it was him that lost Wootton for the goal?

For us, I’m just very pleased with how we defended a bombardment at times, especially as there had been a question mark over that aspect of our play. Kyle Cameron was superb, at both ends.

Good little run coming up for us now - must take advantage.

As I said, not seen it back but can only go on my reaction watching it live and I’d seen the flag a long time before it went in the net.

The Notts fans seem rapid though. I'm hearing a couple went for a piss then bought a Bovril and completed a crossword by the time it hit the net.

Can only go with others on this because my thought was actually that the lino shat himself that it fell to a Wrexham player so then flagged. It was a really late flag. No chance the Notts defenders responded to it and the keeper was at full pelt diving for it.

Irrelevant really though.

French is a centre half playing wingback due to Hall-Johnson being out, not ideal and he struggled tonight I thought. Cleworth is the young lad who lost Wootton for the goal, again only playing because Brisley and Lennon are out.

We will be getting a right wingback in tomorrow and hopefully a midfielder.

Disallowed goal aside, I would say the whole thing felt a lot more flat than I was anticipating. Atmosphere, match, everything. Probably a bit of a result of both teams playing Monday.

I thought French was really good tonight, personally. In many ways I think he's far superior all-round to RHJ. That said his loose pass did lead to the move that Wooton scored from.

At the end of the day he's 22, he's younger than Jordan Davies but people don't seem inclined to give him time to develop. For me he's one of Keates best signings last season and could develop into an important player for us. Hes big and he's fast and he's decent on the ball. That can take you far at this level.

Both teams looked very leggy at the end I thought. Hard games on Saturday and the miles travelled catching up with players. The game had gone at a fair pace from both teams up to that point though, fair dos.
