Steve Watson new manager at Chester.
Good appointmen;t,disappointed he left York.
Been very unlucky and 100% believe he would of got us promotion COVID year because kings Lynn had gone.
will be under less pressure at Chester and did brilliant with Gateshead.
He signs goods players but only downside can’t seem to mould them all together.
Bet Jack Redshaw isn’t happy because he certainly doesn’t rate him.

I believe Jacks loan spell is up now and I don’t think he has improved us so might be just as well if he goes back to his club.

Probably as good a manager as Chester could have hoped for. Always thought he did a good job at Gateshead, can he operate with a smaller budget though?

That is down to the way the club is run and deserve to be in it,but still a pub league of which standard is appalling.
I feel we will move forward with Steve Watson. As popular as Johnson and Morley were they presided over some of the worst results in our entire history and under them we became very defensively naive. Watson ticks all the boxes imo. He has already told us how he will sort this mess out which is something B & J never did. I, for one am enthused by his appointment.

I thought Newton was your best player. Didn't he come through our academy?

Newton has been very good for us in the past but lost some pace this year.
Will be interested in how Watson does at Chester,he seems very good at recruiting players but not so good at balancing team.
What I find bizarre is the fact he brought Askey in to help then walked.

Haha when you have to wake up Boxing Day morning and scour the Twitter in wild hope you do not see a ‘game postponed’ message.

mothing yet Curzon side so game on ‘phew’ Boxing Day just never seems right without a match, although at least in Tameside I have options but the others in area play tomorrow.

what Curzon could do with is Man City being called off at 14:00 so afew may bother coming the 4-5 tram stops to Curzon

2 of Alty's strikers loaned out to NLN clubs this week I see - Tom Peers to Curzon and Marcus Dinanga to Kidderminster. The fact that both our No 9s have been sent away without a replacement speaks volumes.
I'd sooner never see either of them again.

Peers was just about serviceable in NLN, but has a conversion rate of around 1 in 10 chances. He actually left us in 2018/19 for FCUM, as he wasn't getting a start. I was sorely disappointed when he re-signed the following season.

Dinanga is utterly hopeless, I can't believe he got a football league gig. I remember the day I first saw him in warm ups when we played Notts County (ironically he scored that day).

He was put in front of the goal with the ageing Steve Drench, and balls were invitingly rolled in to his feet 8 yards out. He missed absolutely everything - into the keeper's arms, wide of both posts, over the bar, the lot. That day was his last league goal, 3 months ago I think.

I've been doing the same. All the news coming from our end at the moment seems positive, so fingers crossed

Alfreton v Boston off for a waterlogged pitch. Not surprised at all given the volume of rain. Hopefully it doesnt become a theme through January but I fear it might..

0-0 at half time here at Curzon.

Curzon have dominated the game it’s all been played in the Southport half apart from the couple of minutes injury time but Curzon probably have not tested the Southport goalie enough for the sheer amount of possession they had.

3-4 good chances though, their goalie has made couple of good stops but I do worry that we didn’t turn that performance into a lead because I’d expect Southport to be getting a bollocking at half time.

expect more from Southport 2nd half is whether we can keep it going

Can't argue with that, possibly our worst 45 minutes of the season so far. Referee not the best, but that doesn't disguise that we've been outplayed by you so far.

It’s been a very dirty game some nasty tackles either side but that seems to have played to our hands than yours as our players seem happier to get stuck in so far.

cannot see you as ineffective 2nd half, if you are you then really would deserve defeat, all we can do is try and come out doing the same, but need to try and get more players in box, play some fantastic stuff until we get around the wings then can stall.

Cant quite believe that we have gone to Fylde (again!) and taken all 3 points, certainly didnt expect that result. If we can beat Curzon and then Fylde again at home we will have had a great Xmas!

City 0 Leamington 0. Could have played all night and neither side would have scored. Awful game

Two things beginning to become clear (to me).
AFC Telford are serious relegation candidates.
Real chance AFC Fylde wont even finish in the top three

Curzon Ashton 0-0 Southport

The point we earned today was absolute daylight robbery. Bar a 10 minute period at the start of the second half Curzon dominated the match, even when they went down to 10 men after a horrific "tackle". We had too many players having off days, and our formation gave their full-backs license to push forwards and always give them an extra attacking option. Cam Mason kept us in the game a few times, and our central defenders dealt with most balls into the box, but at the other end there was very little other than a Carver shot just wide, a clearance off the line from a corner, and a powder-puff header into the ground and straight at their keeper. Their keeper flapped at the few balls we managed to put in their box, and it's disappointing we didn't test him out more.

It was also the first time in a very long time that we've outnumbered home fans anywhere. Just a shame we had little to shout about.

Jeez and I thought it was hard going watching Southend away. I applaud any Chester fans who go regularly to away games, must have been amazing today!

I've been to them all! It's 722 days since we won away with fans allowed in, we did win 3 behind closed doors though.

I thought we were robbed today we were a lot superior against a poor Spendymoor side that was packed with incidents on and off the pitch. We need to start beating poor teams like the 'Pride of County Durham'

As for the incidents in this feisty local match I think I'd be here all night. I don't even recall our keeper having to move a muscle throughout the game. And with three of our first team players non starters I thought we played very well.

Man of the match for Spendy was definitely their keeper Eve. I thought we had a great shout for a penalty with a hand ball in the first half, easily taken goal from top marksman Charman!
As for the referee another contentious clown in charge, standard of referees in this league are getting worse, got what he wanted by giving Charman his marching orders. I can't wait to see the referees face when he looks at the footage, fuckin knob-head!

Great round of applause from the fans for Osagi Bascome who was killed in Bermuda last week.
And why the fuckin hell do 'Spendymoor' fans sing 'We hate Darlo' I'm afraid to say there's only one club allowed to voice that roar and that's our rivals 'Hartlepool'

Also on a side-note the attendance dear me 2,400 no fuckin way, 1,800 Spendy fans :fl:
