Won 2-0 at AFC Fylde with goals from Garner and Trialist E (who is probably one of our new B team prospective players.)
It's only the 2nd time we've ever beat Fylde... we got promoted after the other victory.

B team? Bit much for a league 2 side isn’t it?

Lost 3-0 against a dominant Millwall. One triallist who has been showing promise injured and off 18 mins in.

Well, we beat Dover 1-2 . All 3 goals scored by Crawley players.

We did have to send the cavalry on to win though. Our goals from Tsaroulla and Nadersan.

it's new this season - and we don't have a reserve or youth team.

We don’t have a reserve team either any more, haven’t for years. there was talk of one a while back but the people that were talking about it have all been sacked. Not sure what the new lots plan is. Can’t see the point tbh, we’ve wasted enough money on shit players for the first team over the last year never mind bringing in some even worse ones for a b team.

Beat airdrie (cba trying to spell the proper name) 8-0 in scotland.

Had an 8-0 4-0 and 8-0 haha, still it’s about fitness and performance, the results as always means sod all in pre season.

Not seen any goal better than Ridehalgh's volley against Bury. The technique, the power...oh my.

We're playing against full internationals that have won titles all over the globe, so I'm happy to judge the 'who has scored the best goal against Merthyr Tydfil' competition if you want to post your links?

Reports from the US suggest that Chelsea are going to put a very young team out today but looking at the names mentioned there is a lot of Championship or better experience and a number of full internationals. So should be fun! Could be a beating the likes of which we haven't had to be used to for a while.

Nowt worse than chasing a bunch of internationals in 30 degree heat.

It was our turn against Getafe last Friday. Every other player arrived from Real Madrid/Barcelona - and I’m not talking coming through their ranks without playing for them, either. Some of them had 20-50 caps.

Anyway, Ridehalgh wins goal of pre-season for me. Move on.

Bradford Park Avenue tonight. Tom Banks Memorial Trophy is up for grab. Will Mark Hughes win the first trophy of his managerial career? :fish::bg:

In all seriousness, think we're fielding a young side. Maybe McDonald will make an appearance. Young too but doubt it.

We had a open training session yesterday before our game today. Loads of (primarily American) fans over there to watch the team train. Absolutely barmy, I still can't get my head around it tbh. Brilliant though.

Who send a player off during a friendly? I bet the coaching staff were furious with that decision.
Its hard to tell with Ian Dawes. He doesn't do angry or happy in interviews. Probably a raving lunatic in private.

Does Foster still do his cycling videos.
I think so. All our players are encouraged to still do their extra curricular activities. So him and Howard have their podcasts/YouTube things. Palmer has his clothing line etc.

I would imagine with a 24 year age gap between our oldest and youngest players that their off duty hobbies are a bit different.

Airdrieonians

Scottish championship.

Clydebank are a completely separate club i believe, but i’ll readily admit my knowledge of scottish football isn’t extensive

Both Airdrie and Clydebank both went bust in the late nineties, early 2000s IIRC. Both have now reformed. I think Airdrie are now Airdrie United and are now in the Scottish Championship. Clydebank I think are still scratching about in regional leagues. Clydebank of course 'famously' sponsored by Wet, Wet, Wet back in the 90s.

I guess the most famous Scottish club to go bust and start again was Rangers.

I seem to remember the club stated out as Airdrieonians then became Airdrie United when they bought out Clydebank and now have reverted back to Airdrieonians. Clydebank were also amalgamated with East Sirling in the 60's as well. Think Clydebank now play in one of the lesser leagues.
