We still need 12 points for safety I believe - I struggle to see where they come from mind. Southport could be crucial Home game. Feel we need to get something ( ideally a win ) from tonight. Our away games are alarming fixtures.
Plus we are still rudderless...

Really? 44 points will keep at team up this year. A lot of shite in the bottom six.

Tbf we know Miller, Bencherif and Newton will be of so there's three. DSY will probably end up back down south because he's reluctant to move from there permanently so there's another. Tomlinson is a Simpson player, too.

Nolan will probably end up back in the NW with Barrow or someone like that.
Only two I'd be sad to lose out of that list is Tomlinson and Bencherif.

DSY hasn't hit the heights of his first spell, Miller I still think is wildly overrated by a lot of our contingent, Newton's attitude towards the back end of his time here was appalling, and Nolan....no words. If he got his head out of his arse he'd be in the FL by now, but he'll never change.

After tonight I think it would take a Lincoln (L2) style catastrophic collapse for us to go down. 2 wins from the last 10 will be more than enough and I think there is enough in the squad to achieve that. 10 points from the last 15 at a key time has made our season a lot safer than it looked a month ago!

We need a few wins. Our current position is a joke frankly.

The reason for that is down to your Trophy success --- Was it worth it ??

No, it's not. We were crap long before we even began getting into the Trophy properly this season. And as we all know it's been proved time and again that teams that win the Trophy generally have league success. This year is an anomaly if anything.

Can I drive Nolan back to the North West now and throw him off Blackpool tower, the useless twat!!!

I don't really know where to put this question but I'll chuck it in here.

What are people's thoughts on the management situation, are there any noises from the club about whether we're sticking with Moyses or getting a new man in for next season?

I'd much rather a definite answer to this now, rather than messing around for months and finally deciding to get a new manager in after pre-season has started. Whether this board can make a clear cut decision remains to be seen. This season is done, so lets get next season sorted out asap, a good idea of who's staying and a couple of targets identified, scouted and ready to come in.

My thoughts are that Moyses isnt good enough and you need to find someone in the summer. If Gateshead fall away perhaps try and get someone like Gary Mills? Who plays proper "football" or give someone at Conference North/South a go? Perhaps Pike at Gosport?

Been told today around 6 of the current squad who's contracts are up in the summer have decided that's it we're off to other clubs (tapped up) so are just tossing it now til the end of the season.
You only have to look at the subs from Saturday and who didn't get in the squad to know who they are.

It's not tapping up. At least not in the sense that it is against rules. Players with less than 6 months on their contract are free to talk to anyone. Don't get me wrong, if they are phoning it in, then I hope at least the other clubs they spoke to are seeing it and not offering what they were before at best. But there is nothing wrong with it in terms of the rules.

I know mate but we're paying money to watch a team where around a third of the squad aren't bothering.
Newton has gone, be nice if a few of the others who think they're better us woudl go too before the loan window shuts.

Personally, I think we need a proper manager and one in place by the end of the season with a view to next. Doesn't take a genuis to work out who'll be off and who we have a chance of keeping. Doubt it'll happen, though.

We've gone from being physically a strong side to pretty weak (midfield on Saturday was Nolan, Adams and Power, all are about 5'8". Then throw Marshall, Robinson and Caprice in there...). It seems if you're strong and/or close to 6' then you aren't a 'footballer' as though it's one or the other. We've not really tightened up defensively that much and now we can't score either.

Audel was here on loan, best defender at the Club, wasn't played. Newton's replacement is, by all accounts, terrible. Why did we sign Waite when we didn't need to? Why play Robinson ahead of Tomlinson? Why let Ledsham go?

The only good bit of business Moyses has done is getting Adams back for a few months.

Watching Gary Mills crab football would tip me over the edge I think. It'd bore me to tears.

He's actually good friends with someone who works at the Club.

I don't think Moyses has done enough to last beyond the Summer. Had he kept us in the hunt til the final month then sure, but defensively we're as awful as when he first came, and now the home form is as bad as away. Also too matey with the players - he shouldn't be out on the piss with them the day after a spineless home defeat, and I stand by not going again for the rest of the season.

Mixed on Mills' style of play. His promotion-winning York side was as close to Conference total football as you can get, brilliant stuff. He's turned Gateshead into a borefest though, aimlessly sideways without a real purpose. Still probably wouldn't say no mind.

Apologies, but you used the term "tapping up" which to me is very specifc!

But yes, it's shitty, and we've mostly all been there. What I don't understand is why these players aren't putting themselves about a bit more trying to get themselves in the shop window to raise their value and profile.

Reminds me of when I heard before that about 90% of lower league transfers/signings are agreed by the end of May. Clubs just spread the announcements over the summer. If you hear a "rumour" that turns out to be true, likely the guy signed weeks ago.

By virtue of Alfreton and Welling playing each other on the penultimate fixture (as things stand), I make it that Grimsby are safe too, since theoretically one but not both of them could reach their current points total.

With Southport also playing Welling on the final day, and Braintree a couple of weeks before I can easily see another situation like Tamworth a few years ago when everyone finally figured out they were officially relegated on a Thursday (or some other non fixture day) because two of their rivals had to play each other meaning that one of them at least had to pick up points.

Taking into account budget, expectation and quality of players it's safe to say we have been the worst team in the division this season. We are the P4P bottom club in my book.

Your league position is a bit misleading to be fair. Win 2 of your 4/5 games in hand and youre already up to about 14th. Also weve been below you in the table for the last 4 months so you could say we are worse, but then again thats why Scott was 'relieved of his duties'

Totally agree with you. Wrexham were one of my favourites to go up ( as champions ) and at the very least through the playoffs. One of a handful of clubs that really could make it in the football league based on past history and future potential.
Mind you i'm still smarting from that disallowed goal by Bannister in 1974. Defo in and would have preserved our unbeaten run to 28 in a row.

It's all part of Wilkin's two year plan. Lower peoples expectations of Wrexham, while making bit of money from the cups, and quietly building a decent team. Then stealthily nab the league title the following season. Assuming Wilkin doesn't get the sack before May we are definitely going to win the league in 2016.

Big three points today for us. Leaves us firmly with our destiny in our own hands. If we can acquire the full total of 6 points from the double header v Dartford then I think we will be safe.

After the start you had and also the position you were in a few months ago, if you manage to stay up then Law will probably get manager of the season.

Why? He also got them in that position in the first place.

Nah I think thats a bit strong. I think Askey at Macc has Manager of the season in his back pocket already IMO. As mentioned while we have done well to get to our current position we havent been fantastic. he has also made tactical errors in away games. We are just so fortunate that the bottom six this year are so poor. If this squad had been fighting relegation in our first season I am not sure they would have suceeded.
