As predictable as a Liverpool fan writing off Sweinsteiger the moment he signed for United?

Pointing out that I don't believe he will be as impressive as a lot of people think isn't writing him off. Learn to fucking read.

Well, it is, because if he doesn't perform to a good standard people such as yourself will be the first to claim he's a bust. It's called reading the subtext.

No, it's called reading what you want to read to suit a specific agenda. I'm pointing out that the people expecting more of what they saw from him in the German league could well be disappointed given his age and the differences between the leagues in question. That isn't writing him off, and he was still worth the gamble for £15m.

Stockport County.
Pagnell isn't bitter, he's just mis understood.

Merseyboyred wouldn't wank himself silly if his team signed Schweinsteiger, he'd just slowly reach orgasm whilst reading his paper.

Cabaye is bang average, only famed for his free kicks for the MOTD watchers

The persecution complex is on display. It's as if believing a veteran with a big resume and a bigger name isn't a recipe for success is fallacy. See: Falcao, Ballack, Schevchenko, etc. Ballack's decent Premier League career is relative to what I expect from Schweinsteiger. Ballack was a superior player both in his prime and at the time he moved to England.

I believe Schweinsteiger will play around 20 league matches and play 5 stormers, 5 shockers, and will be nondescript the rest. I've watched him more than most on here and he's not been consistently elite since the treble season in 2012-2013 (28 league appearances—his most in four seasons). The season before that was tough on him. He played maybe half the matches and looked amateur against the BVB gegenpressing. In recent times his physicality has eluded him and his performances have been average apart from a few notable exceptions such as the World Cup Final. At times he's rightly been on the bench for Bayern even when fit; Martinez, Alaba, Alosno, and Thiago are all better players. Bayern fans, for the most part, understand why he's leaving and are upset due to his longtime connections to the club—more Danny Welbeck than Luis Suarez.

Most United fans aren't expecting Schweinsteiger to come in and set the world on fire. He's an exciting signing because of the experience that he brings but he is only really here to rotate with Carrick as Van Gaal knows we had no one to really dictate the tempo of a game in Carrick's absence. Schweinsteiger is still more than capable of doing that I'd say. For £10-£13m I think he's an excellent purchase. Unless his legs fall off.

Anyway, unpopular opinions.

I reckon Bastian Schweinsteiger will perform to a certain level this season that will make previous predictors of his performance levels think "Hmmm, I wonder whether my prediction about the level of Bastian Schweinsteiger's performances this season was correct or whether I made an error".

I like how a simple prediction of a new United player's form in the upcoming season has lead to so much.......debate.

This I more or less agree with. I think this is all Liverpool fans were saying, but catching flack for. Nowhere did I see anyone write him off. He's not here to be one of the best midfielders in the league. I think he's a similar player to Arteta at this point—and that's a good option to have off the bench, which brings me to an unpopular opinion among Arsenal fans: Arteta has a role to play in our side, particularly at home against weaker opposition.

As I predicted when the signings were made Schweinsteiger and Carrick will rotate at no.6. Scheniderlin will play number 8 box to box. Van Gaal's comment upon signing him (Scheniderlin) talking about "the energy and balance to the team he brings" confirmed this for me. Herrera will play 8/10

Carrick/Schweinsteiger
Herrera Schneiderlin

I don't know, I find it quite intriguing how bad his wind up attempts are.

The best way of justifying being a glory fan is not acknowledging those whom correlate fandom and morality. There is no need for justification in an ethically trivial microcosm.

Except for Manchester United fans. They are all immoral toss-pots that enjoy Dane Cook.
