Personally I wanna see us go back to 352, Sterry and Ferguson are at their most effective in this formation, we barely had the wide men for it before Molyneux got injured tonight, White is a CM every day of the week and Grey despite showing loads of promise and I think he's gonna be a good player for us is still just a kid, gets pushed around too easy.
Yeah, going forward I prefer the 433 but as you say I'm not sure Grey is quite there as a regular starter, a lot of burden on Molyneux in that set up. Joe White isn't a forward either and with Mols out I think his hand will be forced.

Club have obviously given up on the season - zero squad depth but we can just about put a team out in the 532/352 shape.

A game too far for us, which I feared would happen. Had to make 5 changes - 3 forced and the 5 changes all played poorly for various different reasons.

We was off all game, lack of energy and urgency. Oldham will also finally feel they’ve had some luck as both goals had huge slices of luck about them. But Oldham overall thoroughly deserved the win.

The key moment of the game was when Rogers saved from Sotiriou in a 1v1 in the second half - he’s been putting those away recently. Had that gone in the game may have swung.

Thought the Oldham players responded well from their fans backing.

We was going to throw a performance like that in at some point with all these games/fixture pile up in recent weeks, so have to take it on the chin.

Oh how I’d love it if Stevenage went down and with that turd in charge too, it’s a match made in heaven.

I'd of taken a point at Hartlepool this time yesterday. Dissapointing to go 2 up and fuck it up but second half it was all us. It was the same at Oldham but we got away with it there. Not a bad result considering we benched Oates, Macca, Longstaff to try and give them abit of a rest after what seems like months of Saturday/Tuesdays. Hartlepool should have won it in stoppage time though, horrific defending from us.

Big game Saturday now back at home for once. Need a win in that one I think, a point at home isn't really good enough now if we want a spot in the Autos

It was absolutely nailed on for a pen, yet another ref decision against us. jeez.

When you look at oates goals, he’s a delight to have, quality player leading the line for us.

Impressed/annoyed at your comeback as you had nothing to play for but was well worth the point.
Swings & roundabouts & all that.
We had a perfectly good goal ruled out at your place, which would have given us a draw.
As for Kettle,he's always been a dogshit ref.

Glad Carlisle lost yesterday to put a dent in their run just before we play them. I would usually be confident but we lost to one of the worst teams in the league on Saturday so anything can happen

If we play like we did last night you’ll win by 3 or 4.

If we play like we have been on the whole under Simpson, we’ll compete and will make you earn your win.

Worst thing is Phil Brown is doing the London half marathon on Sunday… coincidentally the same as my first ever attempt… bet they beat us and he streams past me!
Just trip him up.

The biggest game of the season for mansfield saturday at home to northampton, whoever wins will have an excellent chance of going up (northampton as would be 6 clear of us though we’ve 2 games in hand) mansfield as we’d be right up there still with those games in hand.

We’d be going for an 11th straight home win here.

The first of two incredibly tough games coming up.

At the moment we’re looking secure, but lose these next two and then other teams start to pick up, we’re going to be looking over our shoulders again off the back of 3 straight defeats.

We’re in the fortunate position that we don’t need wins. Any draws we pick up are good points as a few of them will likely be enough to seal safety.

After venturing down to Rochdale on Tuesday, we looked really poor so not confident at all going to Tranmere. We reverted back to the same traits pre Simpson.

I actually think you were better on Tuesday than in our 2-0 loss against you a few weeks back.

Happily take a draw on Saturday, but Newport probably need to go for the win so I'm hoping that will open up space and allow us to hit them on the break. Defeat wouldn't be a disaster, but it would take some of the pressure off.

I disagree. You outplayed us at Brunton park, but we defended well, had good energy and everyone worked their bollocks off to get the result. The other night we just looked like we couldn’t be arsed, very sluggish and you didn’t really have to break sweat for your win.

Good news on the injury front for us, as Jay Spearing, Kieron Morris and Nicky Maynard are all available for the weekend after several weeks, or months, out.

Spearing is good but Maynard must be about 80! Surely he's not going to make much of a difference?

Maynard has barely been fully fit all season, but when he did get a run of games just prior to Christmas he looked good. He is still a good finisher, but he has not been fit enough for long enough. Paul Glatzel is out for the season and our striking options are limited, which is why it is good to have him back.

Spearing and Morris are both key players for us. Morris is our most creative player, and Spearing is vital defensively away from home. Our away record has been appalling in his absence.

Vale at home and the 1st Home game of the season i'll miss as i'm still down in Cheshire til tomorrow;- maybe me not being there will change our luck. With Stevenage playing Oldham a point tomorrow would ensure we are either 4 points off the relegation places or 3 points ahead of both of them.

Got a horrible feeling we will lose on Saturday and kill our momentum, taking us out of the chase

Away to Walsall, I would expect the players who were rested on Tuesday to come back in for this one and for the remaining games for the remainder of the season, now our fixture backlog is finished.

Shad Ogie, Darren Pratley, Aaron Drinan and hopefully Adam Thompson will all be recalled, Theo Archibald is banned for one more game. Paul Smyth as good as he is, will unlikely be able to start 3 games in a week so will likely be dropped. 50/50 on whether Otis Khan will start against his former club - Depends on if Adam Thompson is fit and/or if Wellens wants to change up our midfield.

Our games with Walsall are usually 0-0 or 1 goal either way in recent years.

Conor Wilkinson will probably score, I see his season and form has picked up since the new year. Good player but will likely get booed by fans, he's not the most likeable of characters when he plays as he can be stroppy when he doesn't get his way, heard he fell out with a few people at our club last year and was always going to move on from us despite his good season.
