Fully deserved over the season even if they tried their hardest to mess the final up.

Congrats!

bloody dreadful final, the quality was absolute dogshit.

Both keepers were hopeless.

Still, county was always the lesser of 2 evils as they aren’t a proper rival like Chesterfield, and it’s a great day out.

Meadow Lane closer than Saltergate (or whatever their new ground is called) so happy with this as it's a game I'll go to next season.

Well done to the Magpies, think deserved after the season they’ve had even though they tried their hardest to stay in the NL with the play-offs.

12 miles down the road for us, will be taking the usual 4,000 or whatever they give us.

Happy days

Welcome back. Mixed memories of County. Beating them 2-0 at Wembley in '96 and them absolutely battering us 5-0 back in '09 when they had Sven Goren Eriksson as director of football.

We back baby.

Probably the worst performance of the season from a completely knackered team but we got there somehow.

Thanks Jacob, somehow notts county are now legends!

Well done County. Don't think any Stags fan would begrudge you this promotion after that season you had. That game today for me... it's not even about local rivalries but it's nice that Chesterfield didn't get up because they just didn't have a season deserving of promotion but you guys did. You more than did. Respect. Looking forward to disliking you again now from August onwards though.

Well done Notts, a decent local away day for us too.

Anyone watch the game? The standard was woeful, Surely they've both been much better than that all season, if not they'll have to spend a fair bit to compete at the right end of the table IMO

Yeah, I was there yesterday. Great entertainment for the neutral, but thought the result went the wrong way on the day. Chesterfield play better when there's pace in the game, Notts play a far more considered, patient approach. Chesterfield did well to knock Notts off their stride in the early stages and it could've been 2 or 3-0 at half time with the amount of openings they had in good areas. Dallas was a menace throughout, and with County's high line it was just asking for trouble. Taking off Dallas and Colclough was the turning point for me, it removed a lot of the pace from the front line and as a result Notts were able to step up even higher and started dictating in the latter stages. Bostock was probably Notts best player on the day, and I'm not sure there are many other players on that pitch who would've hit that free-kick so well, regardless of it being a keeper error.

Extra time was a free for all, Nemane running the Chesterfield ragged on the wing, and Dobra finally getting some time and space to score a nice finish.

On a quality level, was it the best game you're likely to see? No, but how many play-off finals are? They're all about the result, who gives a toss how they played. What I would say though is that the standard certainly wasn't 'woeful' (and I notice it's mainly Mansfield fans saying that, who of course have no reason to want to put down either of the sides on display...). It was a cut and thrust game, neither side able to maintain control of it for any reasonable period of time, mainly because the two sides are actually not too far apart in quality, despite the difference in points at the end of the season. Chesterfield's attacking unit certainly made far more impact on the game than Notts, but not quite enough in the end.

It was a bit school playground but highly entertaining, both keepers horrendous, Chesterfields had two saves to make and they both went in, Notts play with this ridiculous high line and kept getting caught out with the same ball over the top onto a quick striker, easy playing that way against the also rans of National League but I think they’ll find things tougher playing like that a league up.

I don't think they'll be able to play as expansive next season. They'll need to change their approach a bit. Defences here are better organised so passing it around in the oppo's half and waiting for an opening, you might be waiting the whole game whilst having one shot on goal for 90 mins. As you said teams will break more effectively on it. Quality of player wise they'll be fine though.

Good to be back!

Arguably our two worst performances of the season in the playoffs, so I wouldn't judge us on those games if that's all you've seen. I expect we will play a bit differently next season, but it probably depends on who we keep and bring in. I'm not sure the squad we have at the moment suits a different style.

As mentioned above, it’s probably the worst we’ve played all season. Chesterfield are generally much tidier on the ball than that as well. Been a right old slog of a season trying to keep up with Wrexham and knowing you’ve got to win every week, then we’ve had a really difficult few weeks with our chief exec suddenly passing away, think our team was completely spent physically and emotionally by the play-offs tbh, not sure how they managed to drag themselves back into both games.

It is ridiculous we’ve been put straight in as second favourites ahead of teams like MK, Gillingham and Mansfield though. We had a fun dance with them this year, but we’re not Wrexham and will go about it in a very different way to them.

We’re back as a very, very different club to the one that left. We were always the league’s chaos club, we’ll return as one of the most sensibly run and patient ones around.

The quality was dreadful (that said i remember how good we were last time we went to wembley hah)

Both keepers were woeful and i’ve seen few sides at mansfield this season as bad as either performance they put in, the quality was absolutely dreadful.

That said, a few notts fans i know said it was their worst performance of the season - if you can put that in and get over the line it must be a good sign.

Still, happy county are up and kept that lot down for another season!

Odds on for a top 7 finish I'm having none of that.

Well done Notts, deserved to come up with us.

Think you and ourselves should be lucky at playoffs atleast next season. Too many good teams to be putting us in the title contenders straight away for me. Keeping Langstaff and Ruben will be key for you. You'll do well to keep Williams too
