Young and Bowman are very good players at this level. Briscoe, MacDonald and Richards are decent. Lavercombe is 18 and only played 5 games but did very well and trained with Liverpool this summer before signing a new contract. Hargreaves said he would be number 1 come August, but now he's gone that doesn't mean as much.

Ignoring youngsters, these 6 are the only players we have though, and god knows what the budget will be for the new manager to work with.

Defenders
Steve Watt
Tom Mills
Jack Parkinson
Jamie Coyle
Callum Driver - signed from Dartford
Manny Parry - signed from Grays

Midfielders
James Rogers
Alex Flisher
Jack Paxman
Bobby-Joe Taylor - signed/released from Cambridge United
Simon Johnson - signed from Eastbourne Borough
Joe Healy - signed from Welling
Alex Brown
Matt Bodkin
Ben Greenhalgh
Mitchell Pinnock - signed from Bromley
Charley Robertson - likely to be loaned out

Forwards
Frannie Collin
Jay May
Billy Bricknell - not sure if hes staying or going
Alex Akrofi - likely to be loaned out or leave

So we need a backup keeper, maybe another defender & forward if Bricknell leaves

Have to say our first eleven is starting to look pretty decent, certainly capable of being up towards the top end of the division again. Nsiala might currently be ahead of East at right back. The signing of Monkhouse brings huge experience and a clever player for this level. Looking forward to seeing Bogle and hopefully he'll hit goals from the off but ultimately may take a little bit of time to adjust to the pro game. Two defenders, two midfielders and one/two strikers of a similar quality to that already in the first team and we'll be looking, on paper, pretty strong.

As it stands our team would be:
(Players in bold are transfer listed, players in italics I don't expect to be first choice come start of the season)
-------------------------------New GK-------------------------------------
Jack Barthram---Matt Taylor---Aaron Downes---James Bowen
--------Harry Pell-------Kyle Storer-------Joe Hanks--------------
Omari Sterling-James----Amari Morgan-Smith----Zak Kotwica

The rest: Lee Vaughan, Jack Munns, Bobbie Dale, Harry Williams, Jamal Lawrence

Injured: Jordan Wynter, Asa Hall, Eliot Richards - futures uncertain

Priorities therefore are two goalkeepers, CB, LB, probably two wingers and at least one striker - plenty of business still to do

Agree with all that, except I can't see us signing five or six more players. I think one defender, one midfielder and one striker absolute tops. Fully expect Hurst to have a dip into the loan market once we're up and running too.

Someone who can play at left back and a striker being the main priorities. Get those sorted and other than in goal, we'll have competition for every outfield slot. If that happens and depending on who the LB is, I would say only McKeown, Pearson, Gowling, Disley and Bogle will be nailed on to start the first match of the season. Would expect Robertson and Monkhouse to start, but the right side is interesting right now. For me, there isn't a great deal between Mackreth and Arnold and nobody really knows what to expect from East.

Wynter's on the transfer list, if we can get rid we will.

I'd personally have Jack Deaman ahead of Matt Taylor, gone right off Taylor and he's just never fit. Arguably Yates' worst panic signing.

A left-back and keeper are the most important things for me. Another forward as well.

I can't see us going as a flat 4-4-2 now so I think it's set-up to be a diamond.

Farman
Wood - Waterfall - Brown - Beevers
Stanley
Sparrow - Power
Muldoon
Rhead - Hearn

Maybe Nolan for Sparrow or something. Or Beevers at CB for Brown and Bush to LB.

Ah forgot about Deaman, yes I'd have him over Taylor. Although preferably neither will be in our squad come the start of the season

I don't think we'll sign 6, I do think we'll sign 4/5 (I should have put 1/2 on each position really). We do have a fair amount of versatility in the squad but a versatile player can obviously only fill one position at a time. If we signed 3 more and had 3 players out for a game we'd have a very weak bench. The money raised so far from the fundraiser is roughly enough for 2 players' wages, though I don't know how much of that was channelled towards the fee for Bogle. And with a 10% increase on the budget we're looking at an extra £150,000+ more than last season. I'd be surprised if that couldn't stretch to at least 18 senior pros.

Mainly agree with that, picks itself really at the moment. Only issue I have is the middle of midfield isn't strong enough with Rooney in there, personally I don't have a problem with him on one side with Mahon on the other and Thomson ahead of them behind Hannah. They could probably all switch about with each other too. Get someone with a bit more of a presence alongside Shaw to bolster it up a bit more.

Isn't Richards still contracted as well?

Ashton is a left back and he'd be awful in a back 3 by the way. He still looks one of the best players in your team I reckon.

Danny Hurst

Danny Morton - Sean O'Hanlon - Mark Lees - Gareth Roberts

Glenn Rule - Andy Robinson - Karl Ledsham - Micah Evans

Lamin Colley - Kevin Holsgrove

Subs: Chris Churchman, Scott Duxbury, Danny Glover, Bobby Lofthouse, Charlie Russell, Matthew Todd

At the minute that's something how we'll line up if the season started tomorrow, the ones in bold are transfer listed and Matthew Tood and Charlie Russell are development squad players. If we get rid of all the transfer listed players that should free up some funds to bring in players. The starting 11 looks good until you see Kevin Holsgrove's name on it.

Yes B & W, I'd completely forgotten about him. Another forward. We seem to have a lot of fringe forwards.
McConville leaving for Accrington may be a blessing.

Think we need another jack of all trades defender and two more forwards as I can't see Rhead and Hearn playing week in week out especially Rhead looking at his record.

Think we are in need of another Muldoon type signing, youth and pace. Would be a bonus if we can shift Diagne out on loan and get another defender in too. But can't really see anyone coming in from him.

With Rule out of position and a central midfield with two attacking player, I very much doubt it.

I thought Rule was a right back/winger? And I'd be surprised and concerned if Robinson and Ledsham are centre mid together but if you re-read my post I said at the minute.

He was was described as " tough tackling" by Young and has always be refered to as a midfielder, so I presume he is a central midfielder that can play full back. I think with our current players you would see Holsgrove on the wing with Robinson in a free role in behind Colley.

Ah ok fair enough.

I'd say Robinson would be best behind the striker but Young has said we'll play 4-4-2 so we'll have to wait and see.

Plus you will need a replacement for Hearn when he gets injured in September putting him out for the rest of the season....:P1:
