And did they not teach the offside rule at Halifax to Hyde? bar the disallowed goal (where it was definitely borderline) he was constantly offside
It was my only major gripe with him (besides being injured half of the season) He always seemed to run in behind a second or two early. He’s better as a poacher rather than getting in behind though in all honesty.

Well I haven't seen any Southend fans moan about any of those points - we could have had a few hundred more in the home end but it felt pretty full yesterday, catering was an issue in the home end only, no moaning that I can see regarding view lines of the pitch and it's £15 for our games.

As for our game, I think it's already been covered with Southend well on top and getting down our right hand side far too easily for my liking. Rhys Murphy will score goals as his movement is excellent, he's just lacking confidence right now.

Second half we grew into the game and kept Southend at bay, in fact probably the most damning stat line for the visitor's attacking threat (or lack thereof) is that George Wickens didn't have a save to make. I thought we'd nicked it at the death but Fasanmade's shot didn't have enough power.

I don't want to overreact but Jack Cook is a future ballon d'or winner.
very fair summing up, both about Rhys Murphy.....hopefully lol and both side's performance. We could have been up in the first half and you could have won it at the death. All if my Auntie had balls she would be my uncle stuff, but for us it 4 points from our first three games with 1 goal scored (not enough) and 1 conceded (pretty solid).

It's all about playing the best you can and beating your opposition, but we haven't been too good at that for the last three seasons lol. Hoping for better this time around.

Good Luck for the rest of the season!

I was impressed with Wrexham. Thought they dominated throughout and they look a well balanced team. All big fuckers as well which always seems to help. That mullin will hit a load of goals. I’ll watch Stockport tonight but already I would be surprised if Wrexham didn’t win it. They will murder teams with those 2 forwards

There is certainly promising signs for us particularly when the team settles in .We have quite a tough start so dont expect at the top for the first month or so.
Everyone knows we need a Defensive Midfield player if we sign one today the squad will look strong on all areas.
We will score goals and we look solid at the back so dont think we will lose many matches.
Lots of good teams in this league but if last night is anything to go by teams are afraid of us and will change the way they play to grind out results.

I was impressed with you last night - you’ve had a few months to do what we’ve had 18 months to do and I reckon you’re ahead of us already.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Absolutely agree, it looked too good for the level above didn't it? L2 is WANK
The Golden tin-pot era… Must say, it’s the strongest I’ve seen.
Just when we have the most shit side we have ever assembled.
The play-offs are gonna be monumental.

Massive game for Rusk, lose this and he will be struggling already.

I didn't know what sort of forward Mullin was before we signed him, with his previous record I thought he'd just be a decent play off the shoulder forward who hit a purple patch last season, turns out he's far more than that. So far he looks the best forward we've had since we've been down here. I agree that him and Hyde already look really dangerous, and they've only played about 4 and a bit games together.

Could be our best front two since Trundle and Morrell, and they were amazing.

I don’t know if it was a case of us changing the way we play to combat you or because of the two games in three days and our two playmakers both having fitness worries. I don’t think we changed our ‘style’ much either, we still played out from the back more and were comfortably the least direct of the two teams, but we did commit fewer men forward than we normally do.

It’s a shame it wasn’t the other way around fixture wise as the game fizzled out a bit really for the last half an hour after being played at a very high tempo up until then.

Understand what you are saying but remember we played at Eastleigh Saturday and wouldn't have got back to Wrexham until after midnight and 36 hours later we played you.We only made one change in our team.
Havent really regarded you as a physical team before but one of your tactics was to stop Jorden and your 4 bookings were all for fouls on him. He is our most creative midfield player so understand why you did it.
But that's football and wish you all the best for the rest of the season

We’re not physical at all really but we get a lot of bookings under Burchnall for those snide fouls to stop counter attacks that you see Man City getting away with all the time.

Did... did you just compare yourselves to Man City?

No haha, loads of teams do it but people are always complaining that they get away with it more. Fernandinho in particular is a master at doing it without getting booked. Jim O’Brien… not so much.

Stockport should be ahead tbh, we’re poor and the left side is getting hammered.

It's already 22:30 here and I have almost fell asleep several times listening to this.

Sounds very boring, first shot just on HT from Stockport.

Don't think I heard JT mention either of our strikers once, or Coke for that matter. Has it just been all Stockport all half with them shitting the bed when they get near the box?

This is absolutely bloody dreadful. Stockport missed two absolute sitters and we’ve barely tried to go forward once.

Bless Revan, he looks miles out his depth

Hurst obviously didn’t watch us suffer at the hands of the Daggers - his tactics are the complete opposite of what they did.

Press us high and watch us shit ourselves.

Another draw? What a brotherly couple of evenings.

Better result for Grimsby than Stockport you’d say. It’s hard to understand why the latter are so tedious considering the players they’ve got.

Oh well, would have taken a point before hand away at one of the three big spending favourites.

Sounded better in the second half with much more attacking intent from us, but we are certainly missing a goalscorer, otherwise plenty more 0-0s to come.
